Any Senior who graduated in 2017 and received a Community Foundation Scholarship, can request to suspend the scholarship until it is need. For example, if you had many scholarships and decided to go to WVC for the first two years and have more than what is required in scholarship money, the can contact Allison at the Community Foundation and suspend some of their scholarships.  This way, when you finish your AA and transfer to WSU or ESU, you can put some of those scholarships toward tuition there.

Scholarships available for renewal

posted Jun 7, 2017, 2:19 PM by Waterville School

Just an FYI on scholarships available for renewal.  After talking with Allison at the Community Foundation, she has given me this information:  If a senior received a multi-year award, they should see that they have a “Continuation Request Form” assigned to them that is due next March. They will get automated reminders to fill out that form next winter. If they want to reapply for competitive renewal, they need to check the specific scholarship on our Scholarship Guide ( to see if it is available for renewal. Those that are available for renewal will explicitly state this in the criteria section.

Checking into a few of them, here is a short list of the scholarships that are available:

Waterville Shocker Scholarship
Lemaster & Auvil Scholarship
Lauren Ludeman Memorial Scholarship
George Wilcox Scholarship
Washington Apple Education Foundation Scholarship
Virgil and Pearl Gustin Scholarship - continuation request required
Rowland and Ethel Slusser Jones Scholarship - continuation request required

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Moomaw or Mrs. Prey.
